Two Arrested in Knox County After Found Passed Out in Running Vehicle

On June 7, around 12:30pm, Knox County Deputy Claude Hudson responded to a report of two men passed out in a black Nissan at Davis Cemetery on Highway 3441 in Barbourville. When Deputy Hudson arrived, he observed the engine was running on the vehicle, and the transmission was in drive. The vehicle had rolled down an incline and stopped on a small dirt pile. A used syringe, along with a plastic bag containing suspected crystal meth and half of an unknown pill were observed inside the vehicle. The driver, Walter Hamilton, 38, was charged with drug possession and DUI. The passenger, Frank Meeks, 45, was also charged with drug possession. Both were lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
