At the June 12 regular scheduled meeting of the Paintsville City Council, Mayor Bill Mike Runyon gave the first reading of an ordinance to allow Sunday alcohol sales. The ordinance, if passed, would allow for Sunday alcohol sales between the hours of 1pm and 10pm. While some council members were initially opposed to Sunday sales, they realized the benefit revenue will have on the economy. The Second reading of the ordinance will be held at 9am Wednesday, June 14 at Paintsville City Hall.
