At the June 12 Special Called Floyd County Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Dr. Henry Webb submitted his resignation, effective June 30, 2017. Dr. Henry Webb began working with Floyd County schools in 1995 as a teacher for the visually impaired. He became the assistance principal of South Floyd High School in June 1999, before becoming principal in October the same year. Dr. Webb has served as superintendent for the school system since December 2007.
