Jackson Man Arrested for Drugs at Traffic Stop

On Monday, June 12, around 7pm, Hazard Police Patrolman Jake Miller observed a white Ford truck being driven by 32-year-old Jason Riley of Jackson. The vehicle was observed to not have an adequate muffler and a traffic stop was conducted. Patrolman Miller asked to do a search of the vehicle, to which Riley consented. During the search, officers located six bags of what appeared to be marijuana, as well as several hundred dollars in cash. Two handguns were located under the drivers driver’s seat, and small scales and a rifle were also located inside the vehicle. Suspected meth and crack cocaine were also found inside Riley’s underwear. He was arrested for trafficking, inadequate muffler, and possession.
