Parents Arrested for Drugs in Knox County

On Saturday, June 17, around 11:30pm, Knox County Deputies responded to a residence on Weeping Willow Road in Gray regarding two adult parents passed out with children in the house. When deputies arrived, a witness told them a two year old child was outside alone in the front yard. A sixteen and fourteen year old were also present in the home. Upon entering the residence, deputies were met by the mother, Melinda Low, 38. The father, James Dewran Lowe, 40, was awakened by deputies and became combative. Xanax, suboxone and a snorting straw were located. The Lowes were charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and possession of controlled substance. The children were released to family members.
