On Friday, June 23, around 9:55am, Laurel County Detective Chris Edwards arrested Otis Kemp, 40, off Robinson Creek Road. Deputies had responded to a residence off Hopewell Estates Lane about a break in, with the intruder being shot, then fleeing into the woods. Kemp was located after deputies noticed a dog alerting to someone moving in the woods. He was taken to UK Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Kemp was charged with burglary, criminal mischief, fleeing or evading police, and terroristic threatening. He will be lodged at the Laurel County Detention Center upon release from UK Medical Center.
