Beginning around 7pm June 27, Highway District 12 contractors will be closing lanes on US 23 at Airport Road, north of Pikeville, for pavement rehabilitation. The lanes will be closed one at a time. The work, which will be from 7pm to 5am, will take at least two nights, to repair signal loops. Keith Coleman, District 12 Traffic Technician Superintendent, said he hopes motorists will understand that this is a temporary inconvenience. Night time motorists should pay attention and be alert for flaggers and signs in the area, as the lights at the intersection will be out of operation until new pavement is laid.
