On Tuesday, June 27, Pike County Sheriff’s deputies made an arrest in a shooting near McCarr and Freeburn. The incident happened around 6pm Tuesday evening. David Adkins, 42, allegedly opened fire into a vehicle driven by his brother, Darrell Adkins, and Ariel Epling. Adkins suffered one gunshot wound, and Epling was unharmed. David Adkins was charged with attempted murder and lodged in the Pike County Detention Center.
