Floyd County Schools has announced that Steve Trimble will begin serving today as interim superintendent. Steve Trimble retired as superintendent from Johnson County Schools in 2014. He served as a health and physical education teacher before becoming an assistant principal. He then served as a principal for both Johnson Central middle and high school before becoming assistant superintendent in 2005 then superintendent in 2006. Floyd County Board of Education Chair Sherry Robinson said the board believes Trimble will be a great leader through their transitional period. Trimble applauded the district’s successes and said he is looking forward to continuing the growth path of Floyd County Schools.
