Two Inmates Escape from Bell County Detention Center

The Bell County Sheriff’s Office is looking for two escaped inmates from the Bell County Detention Center on Sunday, July 2. Two females were detained by a Bell County Deputy Brooks following an attempted traffic stop that led to a chase. The inmates were suspected of being inside the vehicle, which the females confirmed. The inmates are Jeffery Clark, 23, of Arjay, and Tommy Smith, 26, of Middlesboro. Clark is a white male, 5’ 9” tall weighing 155lbs; Smith is also a white male, 5’ 11” tall and weighing 190 lbs. Their last known direction of travel was toward Knox County after crossing Moore’s Creek. If you have information on their whereabouts, please contact 911.
