On Monday, July 3, Governor Matt Bevin granted pardons to 10 Kentuckians previously convicted through the Commonwealth’s justice system. Governor Bevin said that it is an appropriate time to use his authority to grant a fresh start at independence and liberty for several individuals as this week we celebrate our nation’s independence. The Bevin Administration has initiated criminal justice reform efforts aimed at removing barriers for offenders to successfully reenter society. The governor said more pardons will be issued in the months and years ahead as warranted after careful review.
