Around 4am Monday, July 3, Bell County Deputy James Taulbee responded to a call of two drunk males on the roadway near Brownies Creek. While en route, near Capps Storage, the deputy was nearly hit head on by a vehicle that came into his lane. He initiated a traffic stop after catching up to the vehicle. The driver, Robert Glenn Crowley, 21, of Barbourville, said he was texting in driving. The order of alcoholic was present from the vehicle, which a breath test confirmed. Taulbee continued to the Brownies Creek call, with Pineville Police Officer Jason Williams arresting Crowley.
