On Saturday, July 1, the Harlan County Sheriff’s Department arrested John Adams, 36, of Lejunior. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Adams in the Evarts area. Through further investigation, it was determined the subject appeared under the influence and had suspected methamphetamine in his possession. While attempting to take him into custody, Adams became combative and was fighting deputies and Evarts Police Officers. He was arrested on various charges, including DUI, possession of controlled substance, and resisting arrest. He was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center.
