Big Sandy Community and Technical College’s Enhancing Programs for IT Certification program, or EPIC, hosted a Workforce Employer Leadership Council meeting on Thursday, June 8 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Pikeville. Gary Cunningham, who serves as the project team lead for Somerset, welcomed guests and introduced the panel of employers. The event was a mutual effort from all EPIC colleges to help connect educators and the workforce together. Cunningham encouraged participants to find a way to incorporate apprenticeships. Since the program began, it has had 1,859 participants, 1,064 of which have earned full credentials.
