Knox County Man Arrested for Assault

On Tuesday, July 18, Knox County Deputy Same Mullins responded to a domestic violence complaint at a residence on Green Briar Hollow Road in Girdler. While en route, Deputy Mullins came across an adult male with visible injuries, picking him up and continuing to the residence. Before arriving at the residence, a 14-year-old male was found near a railroad track with a bloody towel covering his head. The two were taken to Barbourville ARH for treatment. An investigation determined that Jimmy Rice, 54, had allegedly assaulted the two individuals. He was arrested and lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
