Update: Three have been arrested in Laurel County for staging an armed robbery. The arrests were made around 1:40am Monday, July 24 in Clay County. Through investigation of July 23 robbery of East 80 Grocery, it was determined that the store clerk, along with two other individuals staged the robbery in a plot to steal money from the store. The store clerk, Jeffry Minto, 50 was arrested for theft, complicity to commit robbery, and falsely reporting an incident; the individual who entered the store demanding money, Bobby Lee Goins, 47, was charged with robbery; and Bertha Ann Isgrig, 27, Goins’ daughter, was charged with complicity to commit robbery. All three were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
Original: On Sunday, July 23 around 5:42am, Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of an armed robbery at East 80 Grocery. Investigating deputies report one individual entered the store armed with a pistol, believed to be a .22 caliber, demanding money and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money in a red four-door car headed toward Clay County. The suspect is described as skinny, wearing a pink shirt, a long dress, and a mask, and is possibly a female.
