Kentucky’s seasonally adjusted preliminary June unemployment rate was 5.1 percent, according to the office of Employment and Training. The unemployment rate for June 2017 was up 0.1 percentage points from the 5percent reported in May 2017. The preliminary June 2017 rate was also up from the 5 percent rate recorded in June 2016. The U.S. seasonally adjusted jobless rate for June 2017 was 4.4 percent, according to the U.S. Department of Labor, also rising 0.1 percentage point from May’s 4.3 percent.
