The Big Sandy Head Start Grantee Office has recognized Floyd County Schools’ Head Start Program for student and parent attendance, and selected Jennifer Woods as Regional Family Advocate of the Year. Floyd, Johnson, Magoffin, Martin, and Pike counties make up the East Kentucky Region. Superintendent Steve Trimble praised the Head Start Program for having the highest average student daily attendance, and congratulated Woods on being selected as Family Advocate of the Year. Anna Shepherd, Director of Early Childhood, said their family advocates do everything possible to support the kids, staff, and families to determine and meet needs to helping in the classrooms.
