Police Looking for Bell County Speeder

On Friday, August 11, around 12:20am, Bell County Deputy Patrick Brooks responded a call of a 2002 silver Jeep Cherokee leaving a residence in Knox County at a high rate of speed headed towards Bell County from Four Mile Hollow. Upon seeing the deputy, the driver, identified as 31 year old Brandon Smith of Wallins Creek, accelerated at a high rate of speed. Deputy Brooks pursued Smith at speeds nearly 100 miles per hour before terminating the chase near Pineville for safety concerns. Smith was last seen on foot in the Turkey Creek neighborhood after crashing into a guardrail. He is described as 6’3’ tall. 165lbs, with blue eyes and brown hair. If spotted, do not engage but call law enforcement immediately.
