On Tuesday, August 15, Governor Matt Bevin announced Murakami Manufacturing USA Inc, maker of automotive vision systems, will build a more than $2.7 million, 20 employee warehouse on its Taylor County campus. Governor Bevin said the investment highlights the increasing strength of Kentucky’s automotive industry, which employs more than 100,000 people statewide. Murakami will expand its current facility at 575 Water Tower Bypass in Campbellsbille by 50,000 square feet to consolidate storage, increase manufacturing capacity and streamline product flow. The company is a subsidiary of Murakami Corporation Japan and was establish in 2000, manufacturing rear and side-view mirrors and related systems for the auto industry.
