On Thursday, August 17, Laurel County Deputies arrested two individuals on charges of forgery. Vanessa Lowe, 26, and Christopher Surgener, 33, both of Corbin, had allegedly written checks stolen from a Laurel County couple and had cashed the checks at numerous businesses throughout the county. Both with charged with seven counts of forgery. Additionally, there were charged with outstanding warrants. Lowe and Surgener were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
