Several Indicted Following Drug Investigations in Knott County

On Friday, August 18, 2017, Kentucky State Police, Post 13 and the Knott County Sheriff’s Office made several drug trafficking arrests stemming from investigations conducted in Knott County. The indictments were handed down after the cases were presented to the Knott County Grand Jury. Troopers and Deputies served arrest warrants on multiple subjects. The indictments were a result of investigations conducted by Kentucky State Police Post 13 Street Level Detectives. These investigations extended over several months. Those arrested include Dwayne Blanton, 60, and Teresa Fields, 49, of Viper; Ricky Taylor, 56, an Dusty Shell, 27, of Redfox; Scotty Couch, 44, of Littcarr; and Andrew Hall, 24, of Mallie. All were arrested on charges of trafficking in controlled substance, 1st degree, and lodged in the Kentucky River Regional Jail. Active warrants are still pending on several subjects and more arrests are expected.
