A multiple vehicle accident occurred on US 23 in Floyd County on Monday, August 28. The accident occurred around 4pm near Pop’s Chevrolet near Allen. Both the Northbound and Southbound lanes were closed for several hours while emergency personnel were on the scene. Two have been confirmed dead in the crash; Monica Christine Polly, 47 of Shelbiana, and her grandson, 8-year-old Wesley Eugene Brown. Four other individuals involved in the crash were transported to local hospitals for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. Their conditions are currently unknown.
