In the early morning hours of Wednesday, August 30^th, Kentucky State Police, Post 13 was notified of a structure fire in the Avawam community of Perry County. Once troopers and detectives arrived on the scene, it was determined one subject was deceased inside the residence. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the death was not accidental. Enoch Colwell, 52, of Wooton, was charged with Murder and Arson 1^st Degree. He was lodged in the Kentucky River Regional Detention Center.  A body was recovered from the fire scene. A positive identification has not been made, and an autopsy will be conducted at the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort. The incident is still under investigation by Kentucky State Police Detective Josh Huff.
