Floyd County Schools has added new school administrators in the county. In January 2017, Melissa Turner became assistant principal at Allen Elementary, with Ebony Doderer becoming Betsy Layne Elementary’s new assistant principal. In July, Jonathon Parson moved into position as assistant principal of Betsy Layne High. Most recently, Ricky Thacker became assistant principal of Prestonsburg High, with Kevin O’Quinn becoming the assistant principal of May Valley Elementary. Superintendent Steve Trimble said he and the board realize several changes have occurred in the district this year and they want everyone to know the new school administration teams.
