On Thursday, September 7, around 3:30am, Knox County Deputy Mikey Ashurst responded to a two vehicle hit and run traffic crash on Liberty Church Road in Corbin. The driver and three passengers that did not flee were injured. Deputy John Luttrell met one of the victims later at the crash site and noticed one of the vehicles involved had a flat tire. He followed the marks on the highway to a residence on Highway 1232 near West Fire Department, where he observed the hit and run vehicle and the driver. Roy Lee Garland, 35, was arrested on three outstanding bench warrants and lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
