KY Emergency Management Dispatched to South Carolina to Aid Hurricane Irma Efforts

On Thursday, September 7, Kentucky Emergency Management officials received a request from South Carolina asking for an Incident Management Team to support existing emergency personnel. KY Emergency Management staff and various emergency response teams left Friday. September 8 to assist with Points of Distribution and operational management and coordination efforts. Under the Emergency Management Assistance Compact agreements, states share resources during natural and man-made disasters. Michael Dossett, director of KYEM, stated their thoughts and prayers are with citizens and first responders who will be impacted by the hurricane. He added the Commonwealth stands ready to assist partner states in any way they are able.
