The Black Gold Festival is this week in Hazard. In preparation for the festivities, the Hazard Police Department is reminding drivers that all vehicles in the Municipal Parking Lot on Memorial Drive need to be moved by 6pm Tuesday, September 12 to allow the carnival to begin setting up. Additionally, all vehicles parked near Triangle Park will need to be moved by 5pm Tuesday to allow the craft tents to be set up. Vehicles on Main Street will need to be moved by 5pm Wednesday, September 13 to allow vendors to set up. Traffic flow on High Street will be reversed at 8am on Thursday and returned to normal flow at 8am Sunday, September 17.
