Drivers using the Mountain Parkway in Powell County should expect lane closures and possible delays beginning Monday, September 18, between mile markers 35 and 36 on Slade Hill. A project to install high friction pavement is underway. The work is expected to take a week to complete, weather permitting. Drivers are asked to be alert for slow-moving trucks as it is a steep hill with a sharp curve.
