On Friday, September 15, a federal inmate pleaded guilty to bribing a corrections officer at the Federal Medical Center in Lexington, KY to smuggle prohibited items into the prison. Keith Griffith, a 35-year-old inmate, was the fourth individual convicted on charges relating to this scheme. In June, James Carrington, Amai Rawls, and Stephanie Dukes all pleaded guilty to bribery of a public official. Between May 2015 and August 2016, Dukes had bought items, such as mp3 players, cell phones, tobacco and synthetic marijuana for Carrington, a former corrections, to smuggle into FMC Lexington. All four individuals are currently awaiting sentencing.
