Traffic at the bridge on US 23 just north of the Allen intersection (mile points 10.7-11) will be reduced to two lanes, one in each direction, beginning Monday, September 18, and continuing for an expected 30 calendar days. The work includes removing the top two inches of the existing concrete deck and replacing it with latex modified concrete as the new driving surface. The two northbound lanes will be closed first. When work is finished on those lanes, traffic will be diverted to the northbound lanes and the work will move to the southbound lanes. Motorists are advised that speed limits will be reduced in the work zone. Matt Moore, Highway District 12 section superintendent, also reminds motorists that they should merge as soon as they see the signs to reduce slowing traffic.
