Adult Education Students Honored by Paintsville Rotary Club

Adult education students at Big Sandy Community and Technical College were recently honored by the Paintsville Rotary Club. This year, their adult education program helped 15 Kentuckians earn their GED’s. The “Bootstraps Scholarship,” founded by Dr. Jennifer Leedy and Johnson County Commonwealth Attorney Tony Skeens, assists students with paying for GED testing. One of the recipients of the Paintsville Rotary Bootstraps Scholarship, Antonia Farias, was honored at a Rotary Meeting. Farias thanks the club for helping her obtain her GED and is now studying business at Big Sandy Community and Technical College. Also honored at the meeting was Kristie Dixon. If you are in Floyd or Johnson County and interested in obtaining your GED, contact Dr. Jennifer Leedy at 606-789-2827.
