The Kentucky Historical Society has opened a new exhibit at the Kentucky Military History Museum that focuses on military weapons innovator and former KHS director George M. Chinn. The exhibit, “George M. Chinn: Sights Set on Innovation” tells Chinn’s story from his early childhood in Frankfort, when he showed an innate mechanical aptitude, through a military career that made him of the country’s most sought after military weapons innovators. The new exhibit features nearly 100 pieces from a former Smithsonian and Marine Corps Museum collection showcasing the evolution of weapons technology. The exhibit is located in the Kentucky Military History Museum’s newly dedicated Major General Richard Frymire and Mrs. Phyllis Frymire Gallery. Regular exhibit hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10am to 5pm.
