Over 400 Injured, 50-Plus Dead in Las Vegas Shooting

As mass shooting occurred in Las Vegas on Sunday, October 1, 2017. The shooter, reportedly identified as 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, was a resident of Mesquite, Nevada. During the shooting, Paddock injured over 400 individuals that were attending a country music festival and killed around 50. He was shooting from a 32 story window in the Mandalay Bay Hotel. His brother, Eric Paddock of Orlando, Florida, said he doesn’t know his brother’s motivations for the shooting, as he was not aware of any religious or political affiliations. Stephen Paddock was found dead in his hotel room of a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound. Several firearms were also found in the room.
