An emergency road closure will take place on October 5 in Letcher County. Highway District 12’s Letcher County Maintenance crew will replace a failed cross drain on KY 1862 at Thornton. The exact location is at mile point five at Niece’s Junkyard. No traffic will be allowed through at this site until work is finished, which should take about four hours. The crew will begin working around 8am. Blacktop crews will come through later in the day to repave at the site.
