A milling and paving project began Monday, October 9 on KY 89 in Estill County. The affected portion is Main Street in downtown Irvine. Once milling is complete, sensor loops at traffic signals will be replaced, followed by paving. This work is expected to take place throughout the week, weather permitting. Motorists should be aware that the traffic signals may be on a timer during this project and for a few days after the new loops are installed. Delays are likely during this project. Drivers may wish to use North Court Street if they are trying to connect between Winchester Road and River Drive or Broadway. The Irvine Bypass at KY 499 can also be used to avoid downtown Irvine.
