On Friday, October 13, Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear announced his office was taking action against the federal government. Beshear’s announcement comes as a response to the announcement that some federal subsidies would be rolled back that assist with paying health coverage. In a statement, Beshear said roughly 88,000 Kentuckians purchased health insurance through the federal exchange, many in eastern Kentucky. He said that the government’s actions would cause the health care rates to rise by 20 percent for Kentucky families.
