Kentucky’s seasonally adjusted preliminary September unemployment rate was 5.2 percent, according to the Kentucky Center for Education and Workforce Statistics. The rate was a decrease from the August 2017’s reported 5.5 percent, but increased .2 percent from September 2016. The U.S. seasonally adjusted jobless rate for September 2017 was 4.2 percent according to the department of labor, which dropped from 4.4 percent in August.
