A tanker overturned on I-64 in Carter County on Monday, October 23, 2017. The accident occurred around 3pm Monday afternoon near the Carter/Boyd County line. The road was closed for several hours while officials and emergency personnel worked to clean up the scene. The driver of the tanker, who has not yet been identified, was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries. The road was reopened around 10pm.
