On November 8, 2017, Big Sandy Community and Technical College’s Dental Hygiene program hosted a Veterans Clinic on their Prestonsburg campus. Dr. Jill Keaton, dental hygiene program coordinator, said they wanted to host the clinic to give back to the veterans. Since opening its doors in 1995, the fully operational clinic, which provides cleanings, x-rays, fluoride treatments, and more, helps train future hygienists. Several veterans from around the area took advantage of the clinic, including Donald Hicks, who said dental health is very important and was glad they provided the clinic.
