KY County Clerks Association to Form Task Force to Study Voting Improvements

The Kentucky County Clerks Association is forming a task force to study voting improvements. The announcement follows state Representative Steve Rigg’s request from Wednesday, November 29, 2017 to review how Kentucky can improve voter turnout. The Association told legislators on the General Assembly’s Local Government Committee that it would form a task force to study the issue. Riggs said the voting system is little different than it was a century ago, adding more should be done to make voting easy and convenient while maintaining ballot integrity. The representative also said that he hopes the clerks’ proposals will be ready for the 2018 Regular Session, which begin in early January and runs through mid-April.
