On Thursday, November 30, 2017, Knox County Deputy Claude Hudson responded to a report of a vehicle hitting a house on Callebs Creek Road in Hinkle. When Deputy Hudson arrived at the crash site, he observed the vehicle inside the house with the engine running. The driver, Curtis Riley, 45, had left the scene on foot. Riley was located walking on Columbia Drive in Hinkle a short time later. He was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence, criminal mischief and leaving the scene of an accident. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
