Hazard Rite Aid Robbery Suspect Arrested in Clay County

An arrest has been made in the armed robbery that occurred at a Hazard Rite Aid on Tuesday, December 5, 2017. The perpetrator has been identified as 38-year-old Michael Scott Ganues of Georgia. The vehicle he was traveling in broke down in Clay County. A Clay County Deputy stopped to offer assistance and discovered the registration plates were stolen. After the arrest, it was realized that Ganues was the person in surveillance videos from the robbery. He is currently being held in the Clay County Jail on a charge of Theft of Motor Vehicle Registration Plate. He is also charged with 1st degree robbery in Hazard.
