American Health Care Association CEO Comments on State of the Industry

The head of the American Healthcare Association was in Kentucky recently and took some time to talk with Richard Farmer about the state of the industry and efforts to improve quality in the nation’s health care facilities. American Health Care Association President and CEO Mark Parkinson said he is optimistic about the “the light at the end of the tunnel” as the industry has continued discussing issues with federal government regulators and is being helped by the pressures of an aging population. Despite the challenges, Parkinson is praising the long term care industry’s efforts at quality improvement over the last five years as shown by his group’s quality of care initiatives and the thousands of facilities that are meeting or exceeding quality improvement goals.
