On Friday, December 15, 2017, Kentucky leaders announced the company Enerblu would be building a new production facility in Pikeville. The California based company will be moving to eastern Kentucky with a new headquarters in Lexington and a manufacturing facility in Pikeville, which is expected to create over 800 full-time jobs. Representative Hal Rogers spoke briefly on the impact it will have. Prestonsburg native and actor Boyd Holbrook was in attendance and spoke on his views of the company.
