On Friday, December 15, 2017, the Kentucky Court of Appeals reversed a judge from Jefferson Circuit Court and ruled in favor of the Bevin Administration against Planned Parenthood. The Cabinet for Health and Family Services filed a lawsuit in 2016 against Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky, Inc., after its Louisville facility unlawfully performed 23 abortions in December 2015 and January 2016 without a license. Jefferson Circuit Court ruled the suit was without merit, which the Kentucky Court of Appeals disagreed. The Cabinet can now continue to pursue its claims for monetary penalties against Planned Parenthood.
