At the December 18, 2017 meeting of the Prestonsburg City Council, Mayor Les Stapleton issued a proclamation to Dwight and Karen Slone for the use of their award winning pumpkin in the Halloween decorations for the city. The Slones’ pumpkin was the largest in the state and won in competition in Kentucky and Indiana.
