Captain Jennifer Sandlin with Kentucky State Police Post 13 was one of 222 law enforcement officers that graduated from the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia on December 15, 2017. The 270th Session of the National Academy consisted of men and women from 49 states and 20 international countries. President Donald Trump was the principal speaker at the graduation ceremony. The National Academy Program, held at the FBI Academy, offers eleven weeks of advanced communication, leadership, and fitness training for selected officers having proven records as professionals within their agencies. Officers share ideas, techniques, and experiences with each other. On average, these officers have 21 years of law enforcement experience and usually return to their agencies to serve in executive-level positions. Captain Sandlin is a 14 year veteran of Kentucky State Police and currently serves as Post Commander of Post 13 in Hazard.
