An altercation at a residence in Letcher County the evening of Wednesday, January 3, 2018, left one man injured. The incident happened at a residence on Black Bottom Road in the Jeremiah community, where Kentucky State Police Post 13 troopers responded to a report of a shooting around 5:35pm. Preliminary investigation determined that Eddie Collins, 45, of Neon, went to a residence on Black Bottom Road where Denver Gibson was staying. The two got into an altercation where Collins shot Gibson. Collins left the scene in a purple Pontiac G6 in an unknown direction. Gibson, 52, was transported to Whitesburg ARH, then Pikeville Medical Center for treatment of a gunshot wound to the arm. Investigators are still trying to locate Eddie Collins.
