Following the resignation of council member Tim Cooley, the City of Prestonsburg is accepting resumes for an interim council member. The interim term will expire on December 31, 2018. Resumes will be accepted at City Hall until 12pm noon on Wednesday, January 10, 2018. Here’s Mayor Les Stapleton commenting on Cooley’s resignation and what they are looking for in an interim council member. Candidates must live within city limits throughout the term of office, be a qualified voter in the city, and be 18 years of age or older. The City Council will vote on candidates at the next council meeting on January 15, 2018.
